Frequently asked questions

For whom is XENTRY Remote Diagnosis available?

According to the European Type Approval Regulation (EU) 2018/858 and (EC) No. 715/2007 and (EC) No. 692/2008 respectively), XRD is only available for independent market participants (ISPs > Independent Service Providers). The term “independent operator” is defined in the European type approval as “... undertakings other than authorized dealers and repairers directly or indirectly involved in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles, in particular repairers, manufacturers or distributors of repair equipment, tools or spare parts, publishers of technical information, automobile clubs, roadside assistance providers, operators providing inspection and testing services, operators providing training for installers, manufacturers and repairers of equipment for alternative fuel vehicles ...”. The prerequisite is that independent operators are registered in the European Economic Area, including Switzerland.

The user groups that are not eligible for purchase include:

  • Private individuals
  • Unauthorized dealers and repairers
  • Companies not directly or indirectly involved in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Companies based outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland

How is it checked whether I am authorized to order?

1. without Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect access:

Please register in Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect. In accordance with the European Type Approval Directive (EU) 2018/858 and (EC) No. 715/2007 and (EC) No. 692/2008, only certain user groups are authorized to access XENTRY Remote Diagnosis. When you register in Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect, the system checks whether you belong to the defined user group and creates your user account if this is the case. As soon as you have been verified as an authorized user, you will receive the access data for Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect by e-mail.


2. with Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect access:

If you are an existing customer, please contact support (via the help section). They will check whether you belong to the authorized user group and activate your access rights accordingly.

How many different time credits are there and when are they valid?

XENTRY Remote Diagnosis is available in five different time slices. When you purchase a time slice, it becomes valid immediately. For an overview of the time slices and prices, please visit the product page in Mercedes-Benz B2B Connect.

Where can I view the status of my time credit?

The status of your current time credit can be found in the XRD app under “My time credit”.

How do time slices work?

The status of your time slice is called up every time you start the XENTRY Remote Diagnosis app. You will be shown when you have no more time credit. Once a time slice has been purchased, it is immediately active and continues to run even if the app is closed. This means that a time slice of, for example, one day is valid for exactly one day / 24 hours from the time of purchase, even if the app is only used for a few minutes.
