XENTRY Tips

How can I install XENTRY Tips on my PC?

XENTRY Tips is not installed on your computer. It is a web application, which you start and run using your internet browser. Please note the system requirements that must be met.

Is XENTRY Tips also available offline? Can I use XENTRY Tips without an internet connection?

No. The advantage of XENTRY Tips is its up-to-the-minute information and the speed with which any issues can be communicated right through to workshop level. Unfortunately, this only works if the system is able to retrieve data online.

Which information is included in XENTRY Tips?

XENTRY Tips contains up-to-date product-related solutions to technical issues with Mercedes-Benz and smart branded vehicles of all product groups (passenger cars, trucks, vans).
This information is also provided by product managers as well as by diagnostics authors in plant service centers, at GSP/T and in the MPCs.

Does XENTRY Tips also provide service information?

No, service information can be found exclusively in WIS.

Does XENTRY Tips offer a function to search for issues related to particular complaints?

Yes, the XENTRY Tips Reader offers a number of search paths:

  • By vehicle type and design group (document search)

  • By VIN / model series and symptom (symptom search)

  • By VIN / model series and full-text search for topics (full-text search)

  • By VIN / model series and control units / fault codes

  • With the help of keywords from the complaint, you can use a full-text search to identify relevant issues and/or symptoms.

When do I use XENTRY Tips versus WIS?

XENTRY Tips is always used in the following instances:

  • When no complaint-related diagnostics and repair information is available in XENTRY Diagnosis or in the standard literature (WIS), or it is incomplete (for example, because it involves previously unknown complaints).

  • Prior to contacting Technical Workshop Support to see whether up-to-date information has already been made available via XENTRY Tips.

  • When you are aware that up-to-date information is already available in XENTRY Tips.
