Mercedes-Benz StarParts

How do Mercedes-Benz StarParts fit into the Mercedes-Benz parts portfolio?

Mercedes-Benz StarParts are maintenance and wear & tear parts specifically developed and offered for customers with older vehicles. Alongside Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts (all vehicles and age segments) and our Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts (remanufactured replacement parts), StarParts add an additional set of maintenance and wear & tear parts to the overall portfolio.

The parts offered with Mercedes-Benz StarParts

The current range includes the most frequently use maintenance and wear parts, therefore covering the most important service events such as inspections or brake replacements. The following eleven product groups are currently available: brake pads and discs, oil filters, wiper blades, interior air filters, engine air filters, fuel filters, transmission oil filters, starter batteries, spark plugs and glow plugs. The Mercedes-Benz StarParts product range will continue to be expanded, so that we can support customers with an even broader range of products in the future. The product range may vary depending on the market.

For which model series are Mercedes-Benz StarParts available?

Mercedes-Benz StarParts are available for selected model series aged 5 years or more. Among others, these include the following model series in the compact class: A-Class (169, 176), B-Class (245, 246), CLA-Class (117) and GLA (156). We also have StarParts offers for the C-Class (203 and 204), the CLK-Class (209), the R-Class (251), the CLS Sports CoupĂŠ (219, 218) in addition to the E-Class (211, 212, 207). Customers with SUVs and sports cars such as the M-Class (164) or the SLK (171) can also benefit from the StarParts portfolio.

The product range will be reviewed regularly and expanded.

What is the difference between Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts and Mercedes-Benz StarParts?

GenuineParts offer the highest quality standards in terms of handling, comfort and durability. StarParts provide Mercedes-Benz quality at an attractive price aligned with the current vehicle value. Mercedes-Benz engineers develop and approve StarParts as newly specified and cost-optimised parts in a certified process - without compromising on safety. The distinguishing features include the use of alternative materials, the reduction of additional functions and the targeted standardisation of variants.

Examples of features distinguishing them from Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts:

  • Standardisation across model variants: e.g. wiper blade adapter for cross-model use

  • Use of alternative materials: e.g. the use of alternative friction materials for brake linings

  • Reduction of functions: e.g. omission of the wear indicator on the wiper

Are Mercedes-Benz StarParts as safe as Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts?

A certified development and approval process of Mercedes-Benz StarParts guarantee compliance with the strict quality and safety standards, far exceeding the legal requirements. Mercedes-Benz guarantees a high fit and functionality of the parts – without compromising on safety.

What are the differences between Mercedes-Benz StarParts and Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts?

Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts cover a different portfolio of parts than StarParts. Remanufactured Parts focus on more complex replacement parts such as aggregates (engines & transmissions), mechanical or electronic components. The StarParts portfolio consists of common maintenance and wear parts, and is specially developed for the requirements of selected older Mercedes-Benz models. In addition, Mercedes-Benz Remanufactured Parts are remanufactured, while StarParts are newly manufactured parts that reflect the current vehicle value. Mercedes-Benz Remanufactured Parts and Mercedes-Benz StarParts have one thing in common: alongside the Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts, their respective product portfolios are the ideal solution for price-conscious customers.

How are Mercedes-Benz StarParts positioned in relation to the competition?

Mercedes-Benz StarParts complete our parts portfolio and offer customers with selected older vehicles a competitive alternative for maintenance and wear parts. StarParts are specially developed, tested and approved for selected Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Your customers can rely on the comprehensive product knowledge and expertise of Mercedes-Benz.

Why can Mercedes-Benz StarParts be offered at a lower price?

Mercedes-Benz StarParts are newly developed parts with modifications appropriate to the vehicle's age. Cost optimisation can be achieved by concentrating on high-volume model series and the targeted standardisation of variants. This also produces procurement advantages thanks to larger purchasing volumes. Furthermore, cost advantages result from the reduction of additional functions and the use of alternative materials.

How can I identify Mercedes-Benz StarParts?

Mercedes-Benz StarParts have an independent brand identity within the Mercedes-Benz brand family. StarParts are easily recognisable by their own logo, packaging, parts identification and labels. The parts are clearly identified by the ES1 (90/95/99) of the part number.

From what sources can StarParts be obtained?

In addition to Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts and Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts, you can now also order Mercedes-Benz StarParts via the familiar ordering systems B2B-Connect and PartsLink24, always recognisable by the part number endings “90”, “95”, “99” and the StarParts logo.

Which guarantee regulations are StarParts subject to?

The same warranty regulations apply to Mercedes-Benz StarParts as to genuine parts (2 years).
