Do GenuineParts warranty terms apply to Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts?

Due to the rigorous standards of our remanufacturing process, every remanufactured part adheres to the same Mercedes-Benz quality as our GenuineParts and is therefore subject to the same worldwide part warranty.*

* A two-year warranty also applies to truck and van engines in some markets.

Where can Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts be purchased?

Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts can be purchased through the same channels as our GenuineParts. As well as being available from Mercedes-Benz Retailers, business customers can also benefit from using our B2B Connect parts catalog. How is the return shipment process for remanufactured parts organized?

The basic principle of the remanufactured part cycle at Mercedes-Benz is a deposit system. If the dealer orders a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Part, he can send back the old part that was removed from the customer's vehicle and then he receives a deposit value in return. The dealer sends the old part back to the Logistics Center using the normal shipping channels and from there they are sent directly to Mercedes-Benz for inspection. The final deposit value is determined here based on the predefined take-back criteria which are familiar to all dealers. After inspection, the parts are sent to the Mercedes-Benz plant for remanufacturing. Once this has been completed, Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts can be purchased like any other Mercedes-Benz GenuinePart.

How sustainable are Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts?

The restoration of Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts saves not only costs, but also huge amounts of energy and raw materials compared with new parts. This allows us to save thousands of tons of raw materials and tens of thousands of megawatt hours of electricity every year.*
How much exactly? The independent testing organization TÜV Süd has verified this and prepared a life cycle assessment**. Compared with the production of a new part, the remanufacturing of a single OM906 diesel engine saves 527 kg of carbon dioxide and 7.248 MJ of energy. In other words: These energy savings alone could operate a laptop for 1.2 years.

* Savings referring to the remanufacturing of parts.
** In accordance with DIN EN ISO 14040:2006/DIN EN ISO 14044:2006.
